Spray Germs Away

It’s flu season, which means you’ll want to be extra-diligent about disinfecting your home. The problem is, with all the windows typically closed at this time of year, you may find yourself inadvertently inhaling toxic chemicals in your quest to be healthier!

Consider instead using vinegar and hydrogen peroxide as germ-busting disinfectants; they’re more natural alternatives that can be just as effective, while being less expensive than toxic cleaners*.

  1. These germ killers are most productive when applied as separate steps: Wash hard surfaces with soap and water, dry with a clean cloth and then mist the surfaces with vinegar, checking first that it won’t damage the surface.
  2. Spray the same surfaces with three percent hydrogen peroxide and let air dry.

Bothered by the acidic smell of vinegar? Simply mix in some essential oils to tone it down!
